For the last 30 years, real estate prices in the Bay Area have closely followed the stock market. I believe there are a couple of reasons for this:
- Consumer net worth tracks the stock market.
- Consumer confidence tracks the stock market.
- The Bay Area is home to some of the largest tech and start-up companies.
